FIRSOL 2-Paddle Fiber Polarization Controller, Ø18 mm Loop Diameter is a compact manual polarization control device designed to adjust and optimize the state of polarization (SOP) in single mode fiber systems. By winding the fiber around two independently rotatable paddles, controlled bend-induced birefringence is introduced, allowing each paddle to function as an adjustable fractional wave plate. Rotating the paddles changes the orientation of the induced birefringence and enables flexible control of linear, circular, and elliptical polarization states. The compact Ø18 mm loop design is suitable for space-constrained optical setups while maintaining low bend loss and stable polarization adjustment. Fiber options include 460-HP, 630-HP, 780-HP, 1060-XP, and SMF-28e, supporting operating wavelength ranges from 450 nm to 1650 nm depending on the selected fiber. With a compact L79.2 × W12.8 mm footprint and bend loss of ≤0.1 dB, the controller is suitable for fiber lasers, fiber optic sensing, optical communication, interferometry, test and measurement, and laboratory research.
